REPAIR OF KU300 WHEEL SHAFT FOR PRODECO

SUTOR Global s.r.o. performed renovation of damaged bearing diameters of the KU300 wheel shaft for PRODECO.
The repair was carried out according to technical documentation No. 4950-212245-11_R01 and was performed in accordance with prescribed tolerances and customer requirements.

The renovation included thermal spraying of bearing surfaces followed by precise machining and grinding to final dimensions according to the technical drawings.
The work was performed on seven bearing diameters of the shaft ranging from Ø 260 to Ø 380 mm, with lengths of 120-349 mm.
Maximum wear of the original surfaces was 0.1 mm.

Technological procedure used:

  1. Initial QC inspection and wear measurement
  2. Pre-machining of damaged surfaces
  3. Surface masking and blasting for spraying
  4. Application of NiTi base material coating
  5. Application of final layer of 1% carbon self-hardening steel (hard metal)
  6. Precision grinding to drawing specifications and component finishing
  7. Final QC inspection

The KU300 shaft renovation was completed in accordance with technical documentation and strict precision requirements.
Through the use of thermal spraying and precision grinding, the original geometry of the bearing surfaces and their functional quality were restored.
This project demonstrates SUTOR Global’s capability to perform high-precision repairs of large-scale rotating components with emphasis on quality, reliability, and long service life of repaired components.
